Required Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with network design and configuration, specifically routing, switching, and Wi-Fi/wireless networking. Experience auditing and documenting existing networks, including equipment inventory, topology, configurations, circuits, and current network condition. Ability to read and interpret configurations across multiple network equipment vendors. Experience planning and executing network migrations and cutovers while minimizing service interruptions. Strong network troubleshooting skills with the ability to evaluate a site independently and recommend technical solutions. Comfortable coordinating with vendors, outside IT/network teams, and field installation teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with MikroTik, Zyxel, Ubiquiti, or similar networking equipment. Experience with GPON/OLT or DOCSIS/CMTS access technologies. Previous MDU, ISP, or WISP industry experience. Experience integrating networks following a company acquisition or portfolio acquisition. Experience with network monitoring, management, and provisioning systems. Experience supporting new network builds, including feasibility analysis, network architecture/design, BOM creation, staging, and deployment.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Onboarding Engineer for a top telecommunications and network services client. This person will own the technical process of bringing existing property networks into the company's standards and systems. They will assess inherited networks, document existing infrastructure, plan and execute network migrations, integrate properties into monitoring and provisioning platforms, and support subscriber cutovers. The engineer will also assist with new property deployments, including network design, equipment selection, staging, configuration, and installation support. This is a hands-on networking position that combines remote engineering work with periodic travel to client properties.
