Job Description

An employer is looking for a Voice Network Equipment Engineer in the DFW area. You will primarily be responsible for supporting the configuration, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of telecommunications equipment across multiple network migration initiatives. This individual will be responsible for ensuring equipment is properly configured, validated, procured, documented, and prepared for successful field installation. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on telecommunications equipment experience, along with the ability to manage multiple deployments simultaneously and coordinate across engineering, procurement, vendors, field operations, and installation teams. Tasks will include:

  • Lead the configuration, testing, validation, staging, and shipment of telecommunications equipment, including IPTube and Cradlepoint devices, in support of network deployment and migration projects.
  • Perform hands-on equipment configuration and pre-deployment testing within the lab environment to ensure equipment is operational and ready for field installation.
  • Take ownership of equipment readiness throughout the project lifecycle, from initial requirements and procurement through configuration, installation, acceptance, and deployment.
  • Coordinate and project-manage installation designs and physical equipment deployments across multiple simultaneous telecommunications initiatives.
  • Support a variety of network activities including new installations, equipment reconfigurations, equipment replacements, decommissions, migrations, and First Office Applications (FOAs).
  • Review project requirements and engineering documentation to determine equipment, material, configuration, and installation needs.
  • Create and manage Material Requests to ensure required equipment and components are available to support scheduled network activities.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement activities, including preparation and tracking of purchase orders, vendor coordination, and payment-related documentation.
  • Manage equipment procurement and inventory optimization to help ensure equipment is available when required while minimizing unnecessary or excess material.
  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, acceptance, and validation of equipment before it is assigned or released to projects.
  • Ensure equipment configurations meet project requirements and identify configuration or hardware issues prior to deployment.
