Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to design and build warheads and weapons on real programs. The right fit for this role is someone who knows their fundamentals, wants to understand the why behind every design decision, and is eager to grow fast. In this position, you will:
- Design munition components and assemblies in SolidWorks, with models, drawings, and BOMs, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Build basic FEA models, document assumptions and results, and present them in design reviews.
- Work with machinists, technicians, production, and the range team to build prototypes, fix fit and tolerance issues, and run tests.
- Apply DFM, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups so parts can be built at rate.
- Write the documentation that comes with engineering (test reports, ECOs, drawing releases, procedures), roughly 30 to 40 percent of the job.
- Learn through design reviews and direct feedback and explain and defend your reasoning.
