Lenel Programmer

Required Skills & Experience

• [3–5] + years of hands-on LenelS2 OnGuard programming experience
• Current Lenel certification at the Lenel Certified Associate (LCA) level or higher on a recent OnGuard version
• Working knowledge of current OnGuard releases (8.x) and their new features
• Strong understanding of access control hardware: controllers, readers, card formats, door hardware, and wiring basics
• Familiarity with Milestone XProtect VMS, including camera setup, recording and alarm configuration, and its integration with OnGuard
• Comfortable with Windows Server, SQL Server basics, and IP networking as they relate to OnGuard
• Able to pass a background check and hold/obtain any required clearances for the role.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) in Access Control, or higher
• Lenel Certified Expert (LCE) in Access Control (Enterprise, Biometrics, or Wireless Locks)
• Lenel Certified Design Architect (LCDA)
• Legacy Lenel Master certification (Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Master)
• LCP or LCE in Video (Prism) or Intrusion (NGP)
• Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT, newer name XCIT) or Milestone Certified Integration Engineer (MCIE)
• Milestone Certified Design Engineer (MCDE)
• Experience with multi-site or Enterprise OnGuard deployments

Job Description

• Program and configure LenelS2 OnGuard: access levels, time zones, readers, doors, alarm monitoring, and system options
• Program and maintain LNL and Mercury-based controllers, input/output modules, and reader interfaces
• Manage cardholder and badge configuration, including badge layouts, card formats, and access level assignments
• Build and maintain alarm and event configurations, global I/O linkages, and monitoring station setups
• Integrate OnGuard with video (Milestone XProtect VMS), intrusion panels, wireless locks, and HR/identity systems
• Plan and carry out OnGuard software upgrades, patches, and license changes
• Maintain the OnGuard database, including backups, custom reports, and data imports (DataExchange / DataConduIT)
• Troubleshoot programming, communication, and hardware issues and work with LenelS2 technical support when needed
• Keep accurate system documentation: panel maps, access level matrices, and change records
