Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a Lean Practitioner II for one of our largest manufacturing clients to sit in McMinnville, OR. This person will spend a lot of their time looking at how work is currently being done on the manufacturing floor and finding ways to make it more efficient. Their day-to-day will include: Observing production processes and talking with teams on the floor to identify bottlenecks, wasted time, downtime, or inefficient processes. Conducting time studies to understand how long jobs and processes should take and helping establish realistic labor and production standards. Looking at production data to understand capacity, productivity, labor utilization, and overall efficiency. Using Lean principles like Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma to improve processes, reduce waste, increase throughput, improve quality, and control costs. Helping determine whether workstations, production lines, plant layouts, or material flow could be reorganized to make production run more smoothly. Working closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and other teams to troubleshoot manufacturing problems and put improvements into place. Creating and updating standard work instructions, process documentation, and training materials so employees have a consistent way of completing the work. Tracking KPIs and reporting whether the changes they've implemented are actually improving productivity, efficiency, utilization, and cost savings. Supporting larger equipment/capital projects by helping analyze the process, understand the potential benefit, and assist with implementation. Providing some support around automation projects, such as identifying repetitive manual processes that could potentially be automated, coordinating with vendors and engineering teams, assisting with testing and training, and tracking results afterward. Making sure any changes they recommend still meet safety, quality, and operational requirements.
