Job Description

Insight Global seeks a Lead System Test Architect Engineer for a leading global manufacturing and product-development client. This individual will provide key technical leadership in developing and standardizing system-level test strategies, requirements, and verification and validation methodologies for physical products. The ideal candidate combines hands-on product testing experience with strong requirements engineering, statistical analysis, failure investigation, and process-development expertise. This person will not simply execute existing test procedures, but will help build the methodologies, systems, and standards that engineering teams use to consistently verify and validate new products. The position offers an opportunity to join a growing engineering organization where the individual can remain technically hands-on while helping shape future test capabilities, processes, and teams.

Day-to-Day

  • Translate product and system requirements into test strategies, protocols, acceptance criteria, and validation methods
  • Lead verification and validation planning throughout the product-development lifecycle
  • Ensure requirements are measurable, testable, and properly validated
  • Develop robust, repeatable testing methodologies that can be adopted consistently across engineering teams
  • Lead physical product testing and analyze results to support engineering and design decisions
  • Partner with CAE teams to correlate simulation/modeling results with physical test results
  • Develop and validate test fixtures, equipment, instrumentation, and laboratory processes
  • Perform failure investigations and root cause analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing through automation, data acquisition, statistical methods, and process improvements
  • Partner across Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Reliability, CAE, and Program Management
  • Create test plans, procedures, engineering reports, work instructions, and technical documentation
  • Mentor engineers and technicians on testing methodologies and engineering best practices Help establish the testing systems and processes needed as the Product Execution organization continues to mature
