Lead Python Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

Lead the technical design, architecture, and development of LLM-powered applications and autonomous agent systems. Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers while remaining hands-on with Python development. Architect complex agentic workflows and orchestration using LangGraph, LangChain, or similar frameworks. Design approaches for multi-agent communication, state management, checkpointing, and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) workflows. Build and maintain MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and integrations between agents, tools, and external systems. Own technical decisions around agent architecture, scalability, reliability, and deployment. Implement and refine prompt-engineering strategies to improve agent reliability and performance. Integrate and evaluate LLMs across multiple model providers. Implement agent observability and monitoring using LangSmith, LangFuse, AWS CloudWatch, or comparable tools. Design persistence and checkpointing solutions using PostgreSQL or similar technologies. Build and maintain backend services leveraging AWS cloud-native, serverless, and compute services. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation or similar tooling. Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and drive engineering best practices across the team. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and help unblock engineers. Partner with product, architecture, and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Python / Agentic AI Engineer to lead the design and development of LLM-powered applications and autonomous agent systems. This person will serve as a hands-on technical lead, owning key architecture and engineering decisions while guiding other developers and ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and production-ready. The ideal candidate has deep Python expertise and hands-on experience with LangGraph/LangChain, MCP servers, AWS, PostgreSQL, and agentic architectures. This person should be comfortable setting technical direction, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and still contributing directly to development.
