Job Description

The Lead Diesel Mechanic will serve as the senior-level mechanical resource responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues across the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. While another mechanic handles many of the routine maintenance needs and day-to-day repairs, this individual will take ownership of the more difficult problems that require deeper diagnostic and mechanical expertise. The Lead Diesel Mechanic will work hands-on with diesel vehicles as well as company equipment, troubleshooting issues involving engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, and other major mechanical components. This person should be comfortable determining the root cause of an issue, completing larger repairs independently, and helping guide the existing mechanic when more advanced expertise is needed. The ideal candidate is a strong, well-rounded mechanic who enjoys being the person others rely on when something isn't an easy fix.
