Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on Java development experience. Strong experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot. Experience assessing and working within complex existing enterprise applications. Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, application integrations, and relational databases/SQL. Ability to analyze an existing codebase and quickly understand application architecture and dependencies. Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical problem-solving skills. Experience participating in technical discovery, solution design, modernization, or application assessment efforts.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to support the discovery and technical assessment phase of the BARN project. This individual will evaluate the existing application and technical landscape, identify key dependencies and risks, and help determine the recommended implementation approach.

This role requires someone who is not only a strong hands-on Java engineer but is also comfortable working within an existing application, analyzing unfamiliar code and integrations, asking the right technical questions, and helping turn discovery findings into an actionable implementation strategy.
