IT Infrastructure Engineer (Network)

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support an international electronics company. This role would sit in Columbia, MD with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). This role will be supporting and maintaining the Americas Data Center Network Infrastructure while providing follow-the-sun support to the customer’s global IT infrastructure.

• Maintaining Network & Network Security Infrastructure
• Provide complete operational life-cycle and project based support client infrastructure
• Participate in 24/7 follow-the-sun operating model along with EMEA and Asian region teams to support client infrastructure.
• Create and maintain SOPs, reference standards, architecture diagrams and other supporting documents as required.
• Continue to identify and implement regular operational activities that can be automated and or transitioned to Level 1 support after adequate documentation and knowledge transfer for swift issue resolution and better customer experience.
• As part of a larger team, maintain infrastructure that meets and beats the established OLAs on both availability and performance.
• Follow client’s established ITSM standards while resolving incidents, problems & service requests and while making changes to Infrastructure.
• Continuously assess the technology and service risk within Americas Infrastructure and make improvements to mitigate those risks.
• Work independently, within a team environment to achieve business objectives.
• Minimum Domestic and International travel would be required

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar; or equivalent years of experience
• 3-5 years of 24/7 operational experience working on production infrastructure (on-call support)
• 5-7 years of hands on experience administering and architecting the following technologies o Switching and Routing (LAN and WAN) protocols (VRF, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, HSRP, LACP etc.) o Network switches and routers - Cisco / Arista o Aruba Edge Connect/ Silverpeak -SDWAN solution(s) o Wireless
• Experience managing Ansible playbooks to automate Network configurations and deployments
• Working knowledge of: o IP Address Management (IPAM) o GIT o Python Scripting and Linux OS
• Experience creating SOPs and architecture documents
• ITIL certified
• ITSM - ServiceNow
