Job Description

We are seeking a Workday Configuration Engineer (Time Tracking & Absence) to own and evolve our global Workday configuration, with a primary focus on Time Tracking, Absence, and Leave of Absence, and secondary support for Core HCM. Reporting to the Director, Business Systems, you will lead hands-on Workday configuration, business-process design, testing, and continuous improvement across global time and absence programs. You will partner closely with HR, People Ops, Payroll, Benefits, and IT teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own Workday Time Tracking and Absence configuration, including time entry, time calculations, time-off plans, accruals, eligibility rules, validations, approvals, and related business processes.
  • Configure and support Leave of Absence (LOA) processes across global regions, ensuring Workday configuration supports business and compliance requirements.
  • Design, configure, test, and deploy enhancements across Time Tracking, Absence, and Core HCM, with Time Tracking and Absence representing the primary focus of the role.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration and business-process issues, identify root causes, and implement scalable solutions.
  • Partner closely with Payroll, HR/People Ops, Benefits, and IT to ensure time, absence, employee, and organizational data flows accurately across processes and systems.
  • Provide secondary Core HCM configuration support for areas such as worker data, organizations, job changes, transfers, and terminations.
  • Configure and maintain condition rules, calculated fields, validations, notifications, approvals, and security supporting Workday processes.
  • Support testing activities, including test scenario development, regression testing, UAT, and production validation.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations and recommend solutions that balance user experience, system maintainability, and business needs.
  • Contribute to the Workday roadmap, documentation, configuration standards, and ongoing optimization of the platform.
