Job Description
Daily Responsibilities: A client is looking for an Intelligent Automation Engineer to design, build and support enterprise automations, primarily in UiPath, as its 2027 RPA strategy ramps up. This person is a hands-on builder who thinks through the design first. They take a business process, write the PDD/SDD, then build the automation, either by traditional coding or with AI tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, all aligned to the team's North Star architecture. They own the automation from development through testing, deployment and production support. When there's no API available, RPA is the go-to integration. They'll also deliver fast, two-week "quick wins" in Power Automate, Copilot and low-code tools. RPA remains the main focus for at least the next 18 months, with agentic AI increasingly built into the work.
- Design: Turn business requirements into PDDs/SDDs, process and data flows, and technical specs, and choose the right approach instead of just building to spec.
- Build in UiPath: Use Studio, Orchestrator, RE Framework, dispatcher/performer patterns, queues, assets, libraries, and attended and unattended bots.
- Process documents: Classify and extract data from complex, multi-template documents using Document Understanding / IXP.
- Build with AI: Code with Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, follow spec-driven development, and build agentic workflows with guardrails and human oversight.
- Deliver quick wins: Build Power Automate, Power Apps and Copilot Studio solutions that integrate with Microsoft 365, Azure, APIs and databases.
- Test and review: Run unit, integration, regression and UAT testing, and do peer code reviews.
- Secure and deploy: Handle credentials, exceptions, retries, logging and monitoring, then deploy through UiPath CI/CD with change management and rollback plans.
- Support production: Troubleshoot incidents, do root-cause analysis and improve reliability.
- Report: Build Power BI dashboards to track automation performance and outcomes.
