Integration Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years in solutions engineering, integration engineering, technical implementation, solutions architecture, technical product ownership, or similar work Direct experience working with external customers or partners Proven experience owning third-party integrations from discovery through production Strong REST API knowledge Authentication methods and integration patterns JSON, XML, and flat-file data formats Strong SQL skills for investigation, troubleshooting, and validation Working software-development knowledge with the ability to read application code and assess technical feasibility Strong technical and business communication skills, including communicating with executives, operations teams, and engineers Experience writing technical requirements, specifications, and customer-facing documentation Experience with AI-assisted tools such as Claude or comparable agentic platforms Ability to independently manage multiple concurrent customer integrations Ability to drive results through influence without direct authority Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to navigate ambiguity Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, related technical field, or equivalent hands-on software development experience

Job Description

Serve as the primary technical contact for external partners throughout integrations Lead technical discovery to understand customer systems, workflows, data, constraints, scope, risks, and sequencing Communicate integration requirements and tradeoffs to business stakeholders while going deep technically with engineering teams Work with REST APIs, payloads, data mapping, authentication, and error handling Design integration solutions based on each partner's technical maturity Investigate system behavior through API calls, SQL/database queries, logs, and code reviews Translate partner needs into engineering-ready requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, data flows, and specifications Use AI tools to accelerate specifications, diagrams, documentation, and integration guides Manage integration plans, blockers, statuses, and next steps Coordinate across Product, Engineering, Underwriting, and Operations without direct authority Validate integrations through testing and data verification before production Support partner launches and stabilization Build reusable integration knowledge and documentation for both engineers and AI agents Identify recurring integration issues and recommend API, documentation, and onboarding improvements
