Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Java full-stack development experience, including building scalable web applications using microservices architecture and RESTful APIs/APIGEE.
• 3+ years of Angular development experience, including building interactive front-end applications and real-time user interfaces.
• 5+ years of relational database experience using PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing applications using LLMs, RAG, chatbots, and AI APIs.
• Developing and deploying solutions within Google Cloud Platform, particularly Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and GCS Buckets.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working within automotive, propulsion, or engineering environments
• CATIA or other CAD/CAE technologies
• Static and dynamic code-quality analysis

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Java Full Stack Software Engineer to support the development and enhancement of in-house applications within the CAD/CAE and propulsion engineering domain. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, REST APIs, SQL/PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will bring strong full-stack development experience, an understanding of object-oriented programming, automated testing, and modern software development practices. This is a hybrid position requiring four days per week onsite, and candidates must be local to the area. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications supporting CAD/CAE and propulsion engineering use cases.
• Partner with end users, product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop backend applications, APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build responsive, user-friendly front-end applications using Angular.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices within enterprise applications.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases.
• Support application development and deployment within Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and GCS Buckets.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot application, code, integration, and performance issues.
• Utilize GitHub for source control and Jira within an Agile development environment.
• Apply development best practices including OOP, TDD/BDD, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies, including LLMs, RAG, chatbots, and AI APIs, where appropriate.
• Continuously improve application performance, security, scalability, and overall development efficiency.

$30/hr to $60/hr : Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
