Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Equipment Engineer for a top semiconductor manufacturing client. This position will serve as the technical bridge between manufacturing equipment, facilities infrastructure, and ongoing construction projects within a highly complex wafer fabrication environment. The Engineer will manage capital equipment installations and facility modifications, coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors, maintain critical AutoCAD and P&ID documentation, and ensure equipment utility and infrastructure requirements are properly incorporated into the existing facility. This is a project- and facilities-focused engineering position rather than a traditional hands-on maintenance role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable owning projects from planning through installation, working directly with electricians, pipefitters, equipment vendors, manufacturing engineers, and construction partners. They will develop a detailed understanding of the fab's infrastructure and become a key technical decision-maker for equipment installations, cleanroom expansion, utility requirements, drawing management, and facility changes. Semiconductor experience is highly preferred, but candidates coming from similarly complex environments such as pharmaceutical or advanced manufacturing facilities may also be considered.
Day-to-Day:
Own the facilities and construction aspects of capital equipment installations and replacements, with approximately 90% of the role focused on project coordination, installation, documentation, and design support. Coordinate day-to-day activities with construction managers, equipment vendors, subcontractors, electricians, pipefitters, and internal manufacturing teams. Review equipment specifications and identify electrical, gas, utility, space, exhaust, and other infrastructure requirements associated with new equipment installations. Take construction and equipment plans and overlay/integrate changes into existing facility drawings, ensuring documentation accurately reflects the current fab environment. Maintain and organize AutoCAD, P&ID, and facilities documentation, resolving discrepancies across existing drawings. Support construction projects associated with cleanroom expansions, equipment replacements, and facility modifications. Develop and maintain infrastructure and consumption matrices, including analysis of electrical and utility requirements. Work with Manufacturing, Facilities, Engineering, workplace services, and construction partners to ensure installations meet technical and operational requirements. Manage outside vendors and subcontractors and verify that appropriate specifications and materials are being used. Support equipment selection, acceptance, startup, upgrades, and qualification from a facilities and installation perspective. Become a subject-matter expert on the fab's physical infrastructure to help determine how future equipment and construction changes should be implemented. Maintain project documentation and participate in weekly project/construction updates. Make technical decisions and proactively identify conflicts between equipment requirements, existing infrastructure, and proposed construction. Provide limited equipment troubleshooting/support as needed, but this is not primarily a hands-on maintenance position.
This position will be 5 days a week onsite in Breinigsville, PA.
