Data Center Technician

Required Skills & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in cable installation, telecommunications, construction, warehouse, low-voltage, cable provider, or other hands-on technical environments. Ability to use basic hand tools. Comfortable working on ladders up to 8 feet high. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as needed. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous structured cabling or low-voltage experience. Experience with companies such as Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, Charter, Verizon, AT&T, or similar service providers. Exposure to data centers, telecommunications, network infrastructure, or fiber cabling. Experience reading basic installation drawings or diagrams.

Job Description

Assist with the installation and routing of copper and fiber optic cabling within data center environments. Pull, dress, label, and organize cables in overhead cable trays and pathways. Support the placement, movement, and positioning of server racks and related equipment. Assist with equipment installation and infrastructure build-out activities. Follow cable management standards and project documentation. Work safely while using ladders, lifts, and basic installation tools. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Collaborate closely with team members and assigned mentors to complete project objectives. Follow all site safety requirements and utilize company-provided PPE.
