Insight Global is hiring for an onsite contract position with an industry-leading AR/VR technology partner in Seattle. We are looking for a professional chef/cooking instructor who will work alongside experienced data collection technicians while wearing a small, lightweight experimental prototype AR/VR device and performing full end-to-end preparation of numerous dishes across several cuisine types in a rented domestic kitchen space.
This position will provide crucial support for a short-term research project aimed at the development of exciting new consumer experiences, and the role has an estimated duration of 4-5 weeks.
Responsibilities:
Review 50 different pre-existing recipes across several regional cuisine types and modify them as you see fit to align with best practices and optimal results Following self-refined step-by-step recipes, prepare several dishes per day while wearing small prototype mixed-reality recording device While cooking, provide continuous, live commentary explaining nuance/context of actions being performed (very similar to hosting a cooking show) Work productively alongside data collection technician who will operate all capture devices/software and provide other assistance as needed Utilize personal transportation to work standard daytime hours (approximately 9am - 5pm) in-person at a rented residential location in Seattle Submit weekly timesheets and comply with other basic personal administrative requirements Maintain patience and flexibility in case of technical difficulties or repetition
Pay range: $60-65/hr
Skills and Requirements
Strong knowledge of culinary arts at both a theoretical and practical level Ability and confidence to deliver robust, live commentary throughout cooking with vocal clarity Comfort working on feet for long periods Clear, concise written & spoken communication and interpersonal interaction Access to personal computer to access and modify existing recipes and execution steps 5+ years culinary experience involving independent purview, not just following instructions Culinary arts education/degree 3+ years experience in culinary instruction Culinary media-content creation experience Comfort not taking self too seriously – We are an upbeat team with unusual prototypes and procedures, and keeping things light goes a long way!
