Large greenfield site development and major earthmoving operations. Transition of projects from mass earthworks into vertical construction. Formal construction safety, quality, schedule, risk and change-management processes. Large-scale data center, hyperscale or mission-critical construction experience.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support delivery of the Early Works program for a data center site in Pecos, TX. The CM will serve as the day-to-day owner's representative in the field, providing direct oversight of the General Contractor (GC) and supporting safe, predictable and high-quality execution of the early works scope. The CM is expected to take strong ownership and accountability for the work being performed by the GC on the clients behalf. The GC retains responsibility for means, methods, supervision, safety, quality and execution of its contracted scope. The CM is responsible for ensuring client has appropriate visibility, oversight, challenge and escalation of issues affecting the program. This position requires an experienced construction professional who can independently manage day-to-day site activities, identify risk before it impacts the program, hold contractors accountable to commitments, and represent client interests in field-level coordination and decisions. The initial assignment will focus primarily on earthworks and site development. At the conclusion of the Early Works scope, there may be an opportunity for the successful individual to transition into subsequent data center construction activities within the broader program.

Skills:

  • Significant experience managing large-scale civil, earthworks, infrastructure, industrial, mission-critical or similarly complex construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Construction Manager, Owner's Representative, Senior Superintendent, Project Manager or comparable construction leader.
  • Strong understanding of earthworks, grading, civil construction, site logistics and large-scale site development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractor performance and hold construction teams accountable for commitments.
  • Strong schedule awareness, including construction sequencing, dependencies, constraints, critical path and recovery planning.
  • Ability to review plans, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, field reports and other construction documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across field personnel, contractor leadership, designers, consultants and program leadership.
  • Sound judgment, willingness to escalate when appropriate, and ability to work independently while remaining aligned with the PM team.

Pay for this is between 55-100/hr.
