Original job description

Required Skills & Experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 or more years in instructional design, learning and development, or technical training for engineering, manufacturing, or technology audiences - not soft skills, onboarding, or general corporate training
  • Multi-audience curriculum design: depth, format, and examples that vary by role; a single training serving a design engineer and a shop floor technician simultaneously serves neither
  • Cornerstone OnDemand administration at the content level: course structure, enrollment, completion tracking, and reporting; user-level experience does not satisfy this requirement
  • Experience extracting and structuring technical content from time-constrained SMEs who communicate in domain jargon and do not think in training terms
  • Written communications for a technical audience: announcements and briefings that are accurate, cover what is changing and what the reader must do, and do not require a follow-up meeting to understand
  • Working knowledge of MBE concepts - TDP, PMI, PLM data management, manufacturing and inspection data flows - sufficient to evaluate whether training and communications are accurate; practitioner depth not required
  • On site in Costa Mesa strongly preferred; remote considered for an exceptional candidate with demonstrated depth in technical MBE training, LMS administration, and engineering-audience communications
  • U.S. Person required for export controlled data access

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior training development for Teamcenter, NX CAD, or comparable PLM and CAD tooling
  • eLearning authoring and screen recording tools for self-paced and walkthrough content development
  • Change management framework familiarity - Prosci ADKAR or equivalent - applied in a technical or manufacturing context rather than a corporate restructuring context
  • Experience in shipbuilding, aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environment where the gap between documented procedure and actual practice is audited

Anduril Industries is an equal opportunity employer.

Job Description

ABOUT THE TEAM

Maritime Digital Production is the software and digital systems function within Anduril's Heavy Metal division. We build and deploy the technology stack that powers Anduril's shipbuilding factories: the data infrastructure that makes every machine and sensor visible in real time, the manufacturing execution system that workers and planners use every shift, the scheduling engine that replans production in minutes instead of days, and the AI systems that remove manual toil from the shop floor and business operations. We are executing a concurrent portfolio of Model Based Enterprise capability efforts spanning CAD applications, quality and inspection methods, manufacturing process methods, PLM and derivative toolchain integration, and documentation standards. Each effort delivers a capability. Whether that capability is actually used by the engineers, quality staff, and manufacturing personnel it was built for depends on whether those people were trained well, at the right time, in a form that works for their role and their schedule. That is the problem this role solves.

ABOUT THE JOB

MBE capability rollouts fail not because the tools stop working, but because people were not trained in time, at the right depth, or given anything to return to when they forget. This role manages the full training lifecycle for the MBE portfolio: intake, development, delivery, maintenance, and measurement. You will coordinate training requests from capability teams, work with subject matter experts to extract and structure technical content, and develop training differentiated by audience - design engineer, CAM programmer, quality technician, PLM administrator - maintaining it as capabilities evolve. You will author internal communications that announce new capabilities, share deployment learnings, and surface training opportunities. You will administer Cornerstone OnDemand - course structure, enrollment, completion tracking, reporting - and keep MBE content on the intranet current. This role requires enough MBE domain knowledge to evaluate whether your training is accurate, and enough instructional design skill to make it usable. You do not need to be a practitioner; you need to be able to sit with one and turn that conversation into training someone else can follow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Managing training intake across the MBE capability portfolio: receiving requests, clarifying scope and audience, estimating development effort, coordinating schedules against go-live dates, and sequencing across efforts to avoid stakeholder overload
  • Working with subject matter experts across design engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, and PLM administration to extract technical content, validate accuracy, and structure it into training a non-expert can use
  • Developing and maintaining audience-differentiated training materials: job aids, quick reference cards, step-by-step work instructions, eLearning modules, and video scripts; tracking effectiveness through completion data and feedback and revising materials that are not working
  • Administering Cornerstone OnDemand: building and maintaining course structure, managing enrollment and completion tracking, generating coverage and completion reports, troubleshooting access and content delivery issues
  • Maintaining MBE capability content on the intranet, keeping documentation current as capabilities, standards, and configurations change
  • Authoring internal communications for an engineering and manufacturing audience - new capability announcements, deployment learnings, and training opportunity notices - timed and written to support adoption, not create noise

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES NOT OWN

  • Technical subject matter authority for any MBE capability. You document and teach what SMEs define; you do not own the technical standard.
  • OCM strategy or stakeholder communications planning. The program management function owns that; this role executes the training and learning component within it.
  • Software development or tool configuration for any MBE capability.
  • Engineering management. No direct reports.
