Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Architect for a top higher education client. This candidate will play a key role in a large-scale Azure cloud transformation initiative, helping lead the migration of approximately 75-100 containers from an on-premise environment to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will function as both a strategic architect and hands-on engineer, partnering closely with product owners, system administrators, infrastructure teams, and software developers to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and deploying Azure infrastructure, supporting hybrid cloud connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments, managing Azure resources such as networking, storage, databases, monitoring, and security services, and participating in solution design discussions with stakeholders, often utilizing whiteboarding sessions to translate business requirements into technical solutions. This individual will also support cloud modernization efforts, automate processes where possible, troubleshoot production issues, optimize cloud performance and spend, and contribute to the long-term cloud strategy of the organization. Strong experience with Azure, SQL databases, Linux environments, and cloud migrations is required, along with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on an organization's cloud-first transformation while working in a collaborative and highly visible role.
