Avionics Software Test Engineer

Job Description

A company has a 3 – 6 month opening for to accelerate/augment the end-to-end automation of our software regression test suite for our embedded avionics systems.

Functional Requirements:

• The core objective is to serve as a Senior Software Test Engineer for safety-critical software verification. You will serve as a technical authority on translating requirements into software test cases and scripts, written in python.
• Experience with DO-178 software verification or similar safety-critical programs is required.
• You will review and approve test cases and scripts to achieve building out our regression test suite, while maintaining our established processes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills required. You will need to support coaching the team and resolving technical issues .
• Given the tight delivery timeline, we require an experienced Software Engineer who can rapidly onboard, demonstrate immediate proficiency in Python-based test development, and hit the ground running with specialized SITL/HITL environments to clear our testing backlog efficiently.

Skills and Requirements

• B.Sc. in Engineering from an accredited university
• 6+ years of relevant integration and testing experience in aerospace or a comparable field.
• Strong background in embedded system hardware and software.
• Advanced Python development skills.
• Experience with requirements‑based testing and verification of safety‑critical systems.
• Hands‑on experience with LabVIEW
