Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transaction Monitoring (TM), BSA/AML and Sanctions professional to provide senior-level operational and change leadership during a period of significant transformation.

The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision, maintain effective oversight of critical BAU activities, and lead TM and Sanctions engagement across key change initiatives. The role will ensure that BSA/AML and Sanctions risks remain at the forefront of design, decision-making and implementation throughout the change lifecycle, while maintaining a strong and sustainable control environment.

This role requires a combination of deep Financial Crime expertise, strong project management capability, leadership, sound risk judgment and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities:

TM, Sanctions & BAU Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of critical Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions activities.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex BSA/AML, TM and Sanctions matters.
  • Monitor BAU priorities, risks, issues and control effectiveness, escalating material concerns promptly.
  • Support investigations, sanctions referrals, governance, management information, procedures, audit/assurance requests and regulatory deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and credible challenge to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Maintain appropriate control discipline and regulatory readiness while permanent resources are focused on strategic change. Project & Change Management
  • Lead TM and Sanctions participation across relevant technology, process and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues and actions (RAID).
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, governance and decision points, including use of RACI frameworks where appropriate.
  • Translate BSA/AML and Sanctions obligations into clear business and functional requirements.
  • Perform change-impact and control-impact assessments to identify effects on systems, data, monitoring coverage, screening, procedures and operational processes.
  • Coordinate requirements traceability, UAT, defect management, implementation readiness and transition to BAU.
  • Identify project dependencies and control gaps early and drive issues through appropriate remediation and escalation.
  • Provide concise project status and risk reporting to senior management and governance forums.
  • Apply disciplined scope, change-control and decision-management practices to prevent unresolved Financial Crime requirements from being lost during delivery.
  • Support post-implementation reviews and confirm that new or changed processes are effectively embedded into the BAU control environment.
