Senior SQL Server DBA (DBA3) Location: Ohio Experience: 5+ Years We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server DBA to manage, optimize, secure, and maintain enterprise-level Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-premises and Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SQL Server databases.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, indexes, and server health.
- Design and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Manage database backups, recovery, replication, and migrations.
- Administer Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Implement database security, RBAC, encryption, and access controls.
- Automate DBA tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell.
- Support developers with database design, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Provide Tier III technical support and mentor junior DBAs.
- Maintain database documentation and ensure compliance with Ohio state security standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on enterprise SQL Server DBA experience.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL.
- Experience with Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Hands-on experience with HA/DR, Always On Availability Groups, backup, and recovery.
- Experience with SSIS, ETL, database migrations, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Entra ID, Key Vault, and Azure Backup.
- Experience with database security, automation, and monitoring tools such as Redgate.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Experience managing hybrid on-premises and Azure database environments, enterprise security compliance, and disaster recovery operations
