Essential Job Functions:

· Develops a purchasing strategy. · Reviews and processes purchase orders. · Manages other members of the purchasing team. · Maintains records of goods ordered and received. · Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers. · Builds and maintains relationships with vendors. · Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts. · Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price. · Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders. · Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services. · Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs. · Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise. · Keeps up with trends in procurement. · Travels to vendor locations. · Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary. · Manages NetSuite systems for purchasing/ buying. · Oversees the Buyer/ Planner role and manages the Supply Chain department and employees. · Oversees production and material planning · Other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements / qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field

· 2-3 years’ experience as a purchasing manager or agent. · Experience using procurement software and databases. · Supervisory experience.

• Strong negotiation, contract, and supplier-development skills
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., [SAP / NetSuite / Epicor])
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications

· Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing, including 2+ years in a leadership role
• Strong negotiation, contract, and supplier-development skills
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., [SAP / NetSuite / Epicor])
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications

Preferred

• Experience with international sourcing, tariffs, and customs
• APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM, or similar certification
• Master’s degree or MBA
