Day to Day
Glassdoor is entering a new era of job search. With the launch of Glassdoor Recruiter - a new AI-powered experience that uses match score technology, recruiter connections, and precise targeting to help people find work that truly fits - we need a communications leader who can translate that shift into a story the market, media, and job seekers believe. We're looking for a seasoned, strategic PR professional to backfill a key seat on our corporate communications team, which supports both external and internal communications. This is no longer a job of just "getting coverage." Earned media now has to work harder: it has to build durable brand authority, hold up under scrutiny, and be legible not just to reporters but to the AI-driven search and answer engines increasingly shaping how people discover and trust a brand. You'll own that shift for Glassdoor.
You'll be part of the Marketing team and will work cross-functionally with key partners across social, editorial, and partnerships to drive impact and results across multiple channels. You bring a modern lens to earned media, understanding how solid third-party coverage fuels not just awareness, but credibility, content amplification, and visibility across emerging discovery surfaces, including AI-driven search and answer engines.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and execute proactive monthly strategic communication campaigns and earned storytelling strategies that position Glassdoor as the leading destination for workplace insights and conversations, and as the modern, AI-powered way to find a job that fits.
+ Secure high-quality coverage across consumer, business, and workplace media, focusing on reporters who shape public understanding of work and hiring.
+ Identify cultural moments, research hooks, and trends that create narrative relevance, partnering with the economic research team to ground campaigns in Glassdoor's proprietary data and insights.
+ Shape angles that translate across earned, owned, and social channels, advising on story framing that maximizes visibility in AI-driven search and answer engines (AEO/LLM discovery), beyond traditional search.
+ Prioritize outlets, formats, and placements that build brand authority and third-party validation over sheer volume of hits; manage and grow relationships with media contacts and influencers while staying current on newsroom dynamics and editorial priorities.
+ Plan and coordinate media briefings, press tours, and product launches, including major moments like Glassdoor Recruiter, and collaborate with cross-functional marketing partners on launches, awards and lists, research and community insights, corporate announcements, and crisis communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity.
+ Track and measure campaign performance using analytics tools, assessing coverage quality, authority signals, and visibility impact beyond clip count, and translate results into concise, actionable recommendations.
Skills/Competencies
+ Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or a minimum of 8 years with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience.
+ Relevant PR experience and a proven track record securing earned coverage in consumer, business, lifestyle, or workplace media.
+ Excellent instincts for what makes a story sticky in today's fragmented, AI-influenced media landscape, and existing relationships with consumer and/or workplace reporters.
+ Experience pitching data-driven, research-backed, or trend-led stories, and a working understanding of how third-party coverage contributes to brand authority, search performance, and AI discovery (AEO/LLMs).
+ Proven experience developing and executing integrated communication strategies across multiple channels, with in-depth understanding of media relations and journalist/influencer relationship-building.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise messages, plus strong storytelling and content creation abilities.
+ Exceptional organizational and project management skills; ability to work autonomously, move quickly, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines without heavy process.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
