Original job description
Icarus was founded on the belief that the Stratosphere is the Forgotten Frontier and that reclaiming it will define the next era of aerospace and what is possible from the sky. We build solar-powered aircraft that fly at 60,000 ft for weeks at a time, delivering persistent, affordable, and scalable presence from this layer of the atmosphere. You will help build the supply chain that makes this possible.
Mission
Re-establish and maintain dominance in the Stratosphere.
The role
You will keep material moving accurately from the receiving dock to the aircraft build. We are hiring multiple Warehouse Associates through this posting, with work spanning receiving and putaway, inventory control, kitting, and material handling. You will report to the Head of Supply Chain and work closely with purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics.
What you’ll own
- Receiving. Check incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing documentation, identify discrepancies, and record receipts accurately.
- Putaway and traceability. Label, store, and locate parts so the team can find the right item and revision when it is needed.
- Kitting. Pick and verify build kits, identify missing items, and prepare material for the production line.
- Inventory control. Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and keep physical stock aligned with ION.
- Material movement. Support replenishment between storage and production areas, recording each transfer so material stays visible.
- Care and safety. Handle sensitive components and materials according to their storage and handling requirements; maintain orderly, safe work areas.
- Team execution. Communicate shortages and receiving issues promptly and help improve practical warehouse workflows.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in warehouse, receiving, inventory, kitting, production support, or another role requiring accurate hands-on work.
- Strong attention to part numbers, quantities, labels, and transaction accuracy.
- Comfort using computers, barcode scanners, and inventory software, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Dependable follow-through and clear communication with teammates.
- Ability to perform the essential material-handling duties of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Commitment to safe handling practices and an organized workplace.
- Ability to work at our El Segundo factory five days a week.
Bonus
- Experience with ION or a manufacturing ERP.
- Experience supporting aerospace, electronics, robotics, or other hardware manufacturing.
- Familiarity with cycle counts, lot or serial traceability, and ESD-sensitive components.
- Experience operating warehouse material-handling equipment.
