Industrial Maintenance Technician

Advanced Fiber Technology is seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Bucyrus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical issues on industrial machinery.
• Install, maintain, and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Inspect machinery and identify potential maintenance concerns before failures occur.
• Support production teams by responding to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, controls, sensors, and electrical components.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read technical documents and equipment manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems.
• Experience working with heavy industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation equipment.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, and reaching for extended periods. The Industrial Maintenance Technician must regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. The role also requires the use of hand and power tools, working in confined spaces and at heights, and the ability to safely perform maintenance activities around moving machinery and production equipment. Candidates must have sufficient manual dexterity, vision, and hearing to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment safely and effectively.
