Description
About Our Team Our employees thrive in a culture that's fast-paced and ego-free, where innovation and collaboration are encouraged at every turn. We are an organization that provides federal agencies instant access to experienced and talented professionals who understand their unique challenges and know the most efficient ways to address them. We are continually investing in resources and talent, so we stay prepared with specialized teams in place who are experts in creating tailored technologies. Our solutions empower Federal organizations to grow, modernize, and succeed in a rapidly evolving landscape. We value all voices and want to attract talent from all backgrounds. We're on the lookout for individuals who are passionate about technology and thrive in environments where problem-solving is approached with creativity and enthusiasm. If you're someone who enjoys continuously expanding your skill set while tackling real-world business problems, you'll feel right at home with us. Veterans and military spouses are especially encouraged to bring your unique and valuable experience to our team. About the Role Our team is seeking a Power Platform Tester to join our fast-growing IT-project based consulting business. We need a team member who is ready to plan, execute, and automate testing of Microsoft Power Platform solutions that support the missions of our federal customers. This is a specialized role for a tester who knows the Power Platform inside and out - from canvas and model-driven apps to Power Automate flows, Dataverse, custom connectors, and the APIs that tie them together. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, inquisitive problem solver who can quickly understand business requirements and translate them into thorough, repeatable test coverage. In this fully remote role, you will validate workflows and functionality across Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Azure Government; build automated tests with Power Apps Test Studio, Power Apps Test Engine, and Playwright; and verify that every user persona sees and does exactly what their security role allows. Your work will give product owners clear, actionable reporting on quality and readiness for release. You will work and collaborate on a team of project managers, business analysts, developers/engineers, and QA staff within an Agile environment. As a crucial member of our team, you will also be expected to interface with client representatives, including product owners, business owners, technical leads, and solution architects.
Responsibilities
- Validate requirements by testing workflows and functionality using Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate, Azure Government, APIs, and Dataverse.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, scripts, and test results that provide actionable reporting to product owners and stakeholders.
- Execute testing activities for functionality, integrations, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Record, build, and run UI tests for canvas apps using Power Apps Test Studio and Power Fx expressions.
- Create and maintain automated test plans using Power Apps Test Engine (YAML/Power Fx test plans, connector mocking) with Playwright and the Power Platform CLI.
- Use Playwright and/or Selenium for deeper UI, browser-based, and model-driven app regression testing.
- Test custom connectors and validate Dataverse Web API endpoints using Postman or other REST clients.
- Use Power Platform Monitor to debug apps in real time and inspect network calls, formula errors, and data flow behavior.
- Test Power Automate cloud flows, including triggers, conditions, approvals, error handling, and connection behavior.
- Perform role-based persona testing to validate security roles, business units, team and field-level security, and access requirements.
- Validate functionality and data integrity during migrations from on-premises systems to cloud services.
- Document, track, prioritize, and drive resolution of defects in partnership with developers and product owners.
- Validate solution deployments across development, test, and production environments.
- Verify that applications meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
- Develop and maintain test documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
