  • Develop and maintain processes for report intake, prioritization, approval, development, testing, publication, lifecycle management, retirement, and ongoing support.
  • Establish data ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, access, retention, and documentation expectations in partnership with appropriate business and technical owners.
  • Reduce duplicate and conflicting reports by promoting reusable datasets, governed semantic models, standardized KPIs, and shared reporting assets.
  • Balance governed enterprise reporting with appropriate self-service analytics capabilities and user enablement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Management:

  • Meet with business leaders, process owners, and users to understand objectives, operational processes, reporting needs, decision points, and success criteria.

  • Manage competing requests across departments while balancing business value, urgency, effort, governance standards, dependencies, and available resources.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, design reviews, demonstrations, user acceptance testing, release communication, and post-implementation feedback.
  • Communicate priorities, timelines, status, risks, limitations, and data-quality concerns clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

Software Engineering & Data Coordination:

  • Partner closely with Software Engineering to understand application architecture, database structures, APIs, integrations, business rules, and technology roadmaps that affect reporting and analytics.
  • Participate in project planning and solution reviews to ensure data, reporting, governance, and analytical requirements are considered during system design and implementation.
  • Coordinate changes to data pipelines, warehouse structures, semantic models, datasets, dashboards, and reports resulting from application, database, integration, or process changes.
  • Work with Software Engineering to define reliable methods for exposing, transforming, validating, and supporting data used by enterprise reporting.
  • Maintain visibility into planned system changes and ensure downstream reporting impacts, dependencies, testing needs, and communication requirements are identified.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, business definitions, source mappings, lineage documentation, and technical dependencies.

  • Guide the design and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional models, curated datasets, and data warehouse structures supporting BI and analytics needs.
  • Review and approve significant BI architecture, modeling, dashboard, workspace, security, and data-governance decisions.
  • Establish standards for Power BI workspaces, access, sharing, deployment, certification, refresh, monitoring, ownership, and support.
  • Monitor platform and report performance, data-refresh reliability, usage, adoption, data quality, and scalability; coordinate corrective and improvement actions.
