The position supports the water systems serving the hospitals' Sterile Processing Services (SPS), including critical water, utility water, and steam systems. The work involves recurring monthly and quarterly sampling, as well as additional sampling when water quality results fall outside established limits. • Coordinate with the laboratory and project management team regarding sample submissions and any collection issues.

Sampling Schedule and Retesting

  • Perform quarterly sampling at designated utility-water and steam testing points.
  • Be available for unscheduled resampling following out-of-range water quality results.
  • Complete required resampling within two business days, during normal business hours.
  • Report unusual field readings, sampling difficulties, or potential water quality concerns promptly to the project management team.

Documentation and Quality Control

  • Maintain complete and accurate field sampling logs and testing documentation.
  • Record field measurements, including applicable equipment calibration and quality control information.
  • Submit sampling records, chain-of-custody forms, and related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Enter or upload sampling records and field results into the designated project records system as required.
  • Follow project-specific quality control procedures, sampling instructions, and VA facility requirements.
