Software Engineer – Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot & GCP Overview / Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building microservices, developing REST APIs, troubleshooting application issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance application features using Java and Spring Boot.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported issues, including production defects and application performance problems.
• Bootstrap and configure new projects, establishing application structures and development environments.
• Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based architectures.
• Build REST APIs and integrate services across distributed applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable software solutions.
• Engage with customers to understand their use cases, challenges, and requirements, advocating for user-centric software solutions.
• Design and implement software solutions using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, tools, and development methodologies.
• Assess application requirements and determine suitable technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
• Create high-level software architecture designs, including application structures, components, and interfaces.
• Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, and processes.
• Improve application performance and optimize development efficiency through continuous improvements and emerging technologies.
• Apply software engineering practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
• Develop user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
• Develop and maintain backend applications, including APIs and microservices.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies to enhance software solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• 4+ years of experience in Information Technology.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Practitioner-level experience with at least one programming language or framework.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kotlin.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience developing and maintaining microservices-based applications.
• Experience building REST APIs and integrating distributed services.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
