The Prototype Vehicle Test Driver supports engineering development by preparing and operating prototype vehicles and evaluating assigned vehicle features. This role follows established driving procedures, verifies vehicle readiness and software versions before testing, and provides clear, actionable feedback to engineering teams through reports and bug tickets.

The position involves working closely with engineering and vehicle preparation teams to ensure prototype vehicles are safe, properly configured, and available for development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive prototype vehicles on approved routes and test locations while following established safety procedures.
• Evaluate assigned vehicle features and document observations accurately.
• Verify vehicle readiness and confirm the required software version before testing.
• Submit and track bug tickets using Jira or other designated tracking tools.
• Communicate vehicle status and test findings to engineering teams.
• Follow established test procedures and provide clear feedback to support engineering development activities.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets applicable company requirements.
• Safe driving habits and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow established test procedures and document results accurately.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform vehicle evaluations and provide clear technical feedback.
• Familiarity with technical documentation, data entry, software documentation, and test execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with prototype vehicles, automotive operations, or vehicle testing.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar bug-tracking tools.
• Experience in technical analysis and technical support.
