SAP Development Manager

SAP Technical Lead / Development Manager (ABAP, BTP and Integration) We would love person to come in and be around the team 3 days per week in New Yor or Los Angeles but if you do live outside of these cities remote within the US is considered with some travel. We are a global media business about to start a move from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, and it needs its first onshore SAP technical lead to shape how it gets built. This is a hands-on seat. Most of your time goes into writing and reviewing ABAP and building integrations. The rest goes into directing an offshore development team and the implementation partner. There is no formal SAP development lifecycle in place today, so you will set the standards, the code review process and the release approach from scratch. You will also sit between finance users and the offshore team, turning requirements into technical specs and stepping in yourself when something breaks in production. The team is small and the visibility is high. You will work directly with controllers and senior finance leaders, not from behind a dev box. You will bring strong ABAP development, hands-on S/4HANA and experience with BTP or SAP Integration Suite. You will have worked with offshore developers or outside vendors and be comfortable running code reviews. Just as important, you can explain technical trade-offs to finance people without losing them. Experience in a services, media or entertainment environment is a plus, as is ECC, Basis or .NET exposure. You do not need to have run a large team. A strong lead developer ready for a first management role is open to be considered. What matters is technical credibility, clear communication and the appetite to build something from the ground up.
