What You Will Be Doing:

Hoover & Strong, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated, observant, and experienced security officer to maintain a safe environment. In this position, you will patrol, stand guard, and monitor the area, taking immediate action if problematic situations arise. You must always be keenly aware of your surroundings and attuned to any suspicious or unlawful behavior.

Your Day to Day Might Include:

• Ensuring a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control monitoring, and equipment control.
• Being visible and observant at all times, greeting staff, guests, and vendors in a courteous and attentive manner.
• Responding immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately.
• Maintaining the company's reputation with professionalism and legal compliance.
• Investigating and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents.
• Securing premises and personnel by controlling and monitoring surveillance equipment for anything unusual, potentially threatening, and/or suspicious activity.
• Writing, maintaining, and presenting detailed reports, noting any damages, theft, injuries, and/or other irregular activity.
• Monitoring and controlling door access for co-workers, guest, vendors etc.
• Sounding alarms and/or calling for outside assistance when needed in emergencies (police, fire, ambulance care, etc.).
• Monitoring entrance and departure of employees and visitors with walk through metal detector to ensure product is not being removed from building.
• Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• Requires a minimum of a High school diploma or GED, prefer Associates Degree.
• Requires a minimum of 3 years of security experience.
• Requires Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel - will be required to generate reports
• Must have strong communication (Verbal-Written) and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with the ability to work independently.
• Must be dependable and assertive.
• Ability to provide quality customer service.
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
