Express Service Technician

Job Description:

As an Express Technician, you're one of the most important team members at John Hinderer Honda**.**

You're responsible for showing our guests a "express" experience and getting them back on the road quickly.

You'll provide light vehicle maintenance, keep a safe, neat workspace, and handle your responsibilities with honesty and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Deliver your guests' cars on time, every time, as promised by the Service Advisor
• Perform oil changes, check batteries, and top off fluids as needed
• Inspect brakes, suspension components
• Rotate, repair, mount, and balance tires according to vehicle standards
• Conduct multi-point inspections (40-point inspection) and recommend on multi point inspection manufacturers recommended maintenance
• Perform minor services including transmission fluid, rear differential fluid, front differential fluid, brake fluid flush, power steering fluid flush, fuel induction service, windshield wiper and engine air and cabin filter replacements
• Take detailed notes during and post-inspection
• Always maintain and have the shop clean, empty trash, oil drains, take out oil filters
• Work with your team to prepare and service vehicles efficiently
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Perform minor recalls and minor repairs under manufactures factory warranty
• Drive vehicles through our car wash, every service car receives a free car wash, unless vehicle has body damage, bike rack, tow rack, etc. If you're not sure ask

Job Protocol

Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift time, and clock in using Netchex.

Pull vehicle into shop and pop hood

Inspect dash for warning lights, low tire light, check engine light, airbag light, etc

Perform Bulb check, brake lights, reverse lights, turn signal, parking light, fog lights, license plate light, head lights (high and low) use a team member to perform bulb check

Set rack and verify lift is on correct lift points on vehicle

Open hood and remove oil cap, place oil cap in hood latch

Perform multi point inspection, needs to be done within the first 15 minutes of the car being in the shop. Recommend any additional services found on inspection
