Original job description
Founding Product Manager at Svix (On site - San Francisco, CA)
More on this role from our partner Tom (CEO) directly:
Hey, I'm Tom, the founder and CEO of Svix.
I'm looking for someone smart and ambitious that wants to operate like a founder at a company that provides critical infrastructure to fast growing startups and the Fortune 500 (Etsy, TaskRabbit, Brex, Benchling, Vanta, Drata, and more).
You will work directly with me, engineering and GTM to evolve the product that got us here into one that takes us to $100M ARR and beyond, by establishing our place as the core communication primitive for backends and agents.
This is not some lofty goal, we are actually on track on becoming that. In addition to our ever-growing roster of customers, we also created Standard Webhooks, the spec for webhooks, which has since been adopted by Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, MCP, and many others.
I want you to make a high impact on the business, so your focus would be the product roadmap and strategy, and you'll be expected to prioritize ruthlessly, ship fast, and help define how our product serves AI agents as first-class users.
You won't be expected to write lengthy PRDs and we don't want to have a product-engineering divide. We have product engineers on the team that can make many of the tactical product decisions. It's therefore your job to focus on the direction and to ensure what we build matches what our customers need.
I enjoy working with exceptional people, so if you're the best or on track to being the best I'd love for us to work together.
If this sounds like what you're after, come join us in person at our San Francisco office and do the best work of your life, surrounded by others doing the same!
What you'll do Own the product roadmap and shape product strategy alongside our CEO. Prioritize ruthlessly, ship fast, and learn from developers constantly. Define how our product serves AI agents as first-class users. Partner with GTM on pricing, packaging, and growth, with a focus on bringing more new teams into a product that already grows with them.
Requirements
- In-office in San Francisco
- 5+ years of experience being a PM for a devtools or infrastructure product
- Experience working at an early stage startup
Outcomes
- Take full ownership of the product roadmap. Turn the CEO's vision into a clear, prioritized plan that engineering trusts and GTM can sell against. Run prioritization, user stories, and tradeoffs end to end, protecting our reputation for reliability with no surprise breaking changes and disciplined versioning and deprecation.
- Make new-customer growth repeatable. Improve activation and conversion, and optimize pricing and packaging so revenue scales with the value customers get.
- Help evolve the product direction. Build the evidence for where we go next, including how we serve AI agents, and establish our position as core communication infrastructure.
We work 5 days/week in our office in SoMa!
Compensation includes Salary ($180-230k range) + equity in the company, as well as health insurance benefits etc.
