About the Role This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment while providing technical support and training to customers. The position combines hands-on mechanical and electrical work with significant travel to customer sites.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment issues
- Install, test, and commission industrial machinery and equipment at customer locations
- Lead mechanical assembly and electrical installation activities while ensuring quality standards are met
- Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs and installations
- Train customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
- Provide technical support and resolve customer equipment concerns in a professional manner
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Document service activities, repairs, and installation work performed
- Travel to customer locations to support installation, startup, maintenance, and repair projects
- Support additional maintenance and service activities as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Industrial Electrical, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred
- 5–7 years of combined mechanical and electrical experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment
- Strong troubleshooting experience with industrial mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Strong customer service and technical support experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in industrial environments
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work around moving machinery, electrical equipment, and outdoor conditions
- Ability to travel extensively and work flexible schedules as needed
Travel Requirements
- Up to 75% travel required to support customer installations, service, and maintenance activities
