All workers must work from a supplier delivery center and not a FNMA office location.We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Developer 3) – API Platform who is a strong problem solver and quick learner to join our API Ecosystem teamThe role involves:Design and build scalable backend services and APIs, contributing to API gateway capabilities and full-stack developmentProficiency in Java (8–21) or Python, along with JavaScript/TypeScriptExperience with DevOps practices using GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, TerraformHands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, Route53 and CloudWatchStrong fundamentals in software engineering, RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systemsDeep understanding of the API lifecycle including design, versioning, security, throttling, and analyticsExperience or exposure to API management platforms (Apigee OPDK, Apigee X/Hybrid preferred), OpenAPI/Swagger, GraphQLStrong knowledge of authentication and authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, API key management)Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools such as OpenTelemetry (OTEL) or SplunkKnowledge of load balancing, caching strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery designProficiency with RDBMS and NoSQL databasesExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Architecture, DevOps, Security) in Agile/Scrum environments
