Reach Forklift Operator

About the Role:

The Reach Forklift Operator plays a critical role in the efficient operation of warehouse and distribution center activities within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position is responsible for safely and accurately operating reach forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials and products in a timely manner. The operator ensures that inventory is handled with care, maintaining organization and accessibility to support smooth logistics and supply chain processes. Attention to safety protocols and equipment maintenance is paramount to prevent accidents and minimize downtime. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to meeting delivery schedules and maintaining high standards of operational productivity in the New Castle, DE facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid forklift operator certification or license specific to reach forklifts.
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating reach forklifts or similar warehouse equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, standing, and maneuvering equipment for extended periods.
• Basic math skills and ability to accurately record inventory data.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a transportation or warehousing environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
• Additional certifications in OSHA safety standards or related forklift operation training.
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate reach forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack materials within the warehouse.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow all safety guidelines and warehouse protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Accurately document inventory movements and assist with cycle counts as required.
• Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet operational targets.

Skills:

The required skills enable the operator to safely and efficiently handle reach forklifts, ensuring materials are moved and stored correctly to support warehouse operations.
