WHAT THE WEEK PAYS

• Average $1,200 to $1,800 a week, roughly $62,400 to $93,600 a year, paid weekly
• $0.85 per mile to start
• $50 for every live load or live unload
• $10 for every drop and hook
• $30 short-haul pay on runs under 100 miles
• $10 detention pay after 2 hours of waiting

HOW THE DAY MOVES

This is a fast-paced "turn and burn" account, with several loads a day. Expect a mix of live loading, live unloading and drop and hook, so the day passes quickly and the stops add to your earnings.

WHEN YOU'RE ON AND OFF

• Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday
• 34-hour restarts for your home time
• Weekend work is part of the schedule
• You'll be expected to work holidays, except Christmas

WHO FITS

Drivers with some miles behind them:

• A valid Class A CDL
• 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, or 12 months total in the past 5 years
• Willingness to take urine and hair follicle drug screening
• An active profile in the federal drug and alcohol clearinghouse
• Background details come up later in the process, like any normal hiring step
