Our clients and their families depend on us for consistency, compassion, professionalism, and quality care every single day. Many of our clients consider their pets and animals an important part of their family. We are seeking experienced, dependable, compassionate, and professional caregivers who are comfortable working in animal-friendly homes while remaining fully focused on the client's personal care, safety, comfort, and overall well-being. ANIMAL-FRIENDLY CLIENT ENVIRONMENTS
DO YOU ENJOY WORKING IN HOMES WHERE PETS ARE PART OF THE FAMILY? Helping Hearts USA LLC provides services in a variety of residential environments. Some clients have one household pet, while others may have multiple animals.
Depending on the assignment, animals may include:
- Small dogs
- Medium-sized dogs
- Large dogs
- Multiple dogs in one household
- Indoor cats
- Outdoor cats
- Multiple cats
- Birds
- Fish
- Reptiles
- Rabbits
- Guinea pigs
- Hamsters
- Other small or caged household pets
- Goats
- Horses
- Mules
- Other farm animals located on or near the property
Animals may be indoors, outdoors, in designated areas, or moving throughout the client's living environment.
WHAT APPLICANTS SHOULD EXPECT
Animal-friendly caregiving assignments may involve:
- Dogs barking when visitors arrive
- Dogs or cats moving freely throughout the home
- Multiple household pets being present
- Pet hair and shedding
- Normal household pet odors
- Pet food, water bowls, and animal supplies
- Animals resting near the client
- Animals entering or passing through shared living areas
- Large dogs requiring appropriate personal space
- Outdoor animals located near entrances or walkways
- Farm animals on the client's property
- Uneven outdoor terrain in rural environments
- Additional cleaning needs associated with animal-friendly households
Applicants should be comfortable working in these environments while maintaining professionalism, personal safety, and uninterrupted client care. Being animal-friendly means respecting the client's relationship with their animals while remaining focused on the responsibilities of a professional caregiver. IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A PET-SITTING POSITION. The client is always the caregiver's primary responsibility. Caregivers are being hired to provide compassionate, dependable, hands-on personal care and support to clients, not to independently manage household pets or farm animals. Animal-related duties are not automatically included in a caregiving assignment. Any responsibility involving animals must be specifically approved by Helping Hearts USA LLC and included in the client's authorized care plan or assignment instructions. Caregivers must not independently agree to animal-care duties outside their approved responsibilities.
ANIMAL SAFETY, ALLERGIES, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPATIBILITY
SAFETY COMES FIRST FOR OUR CLIENTS, CAREGIVERS, AND THEIR FAMILIES. Helping Hearts understands that every animal and home environment is different. Applicants must honestly communicate any allergies, fears, sensitivities, or restrictions that could affect their ability to safely work in an animal-friendly environment.
Applicants should disclose relevant concerns involving:
- Dogs
- Large dogs
- Multiple-dog households
- Cats
- Multiple-cat households
- Birds
- Reptiles
- Caged animals
- Farm animals
- Horses
- Goats
- Mules
- Pet hair and dander
- Animal-related odors
- Hay, straw, or other environmental allergens
- Smoke or vaping
- Strong fragrances
- Cleaning products
- Other environmental conditions that could affect their ability to provide care
This information helps our Operations team make appropriate caregiver-client assignments. Caregivers are never expected to remain in an environment that presents an immediate safety risk. If an animal behaves aggressively, blocks safe access, creates a dangerous situation, or interferes with the caregiver's ability to provide essential client care, the caregiver must promptly notify Operations and follow appropriate safety procedures. Caregivers should never attempt to restrain an aggressive animal or independently handle unfamiliar livestock. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
