Original job description

Job Title: Fullstack Engineer Location: Remote (US-based preferred) Employment Type: Full-Time About Haven Haven is building the next generation financial platform for startups - combining accounting, tax, and banking into a single, intelligent service. Our mission is to make high-quality finance operations effortless for founders and finance teams. Today, we serve 500+ venture-backed startups, managing over $6M in annual recurring revenue. We’re growing quickly and backed by top-tier investors including 8VC, Long Journey, Gilgamesh Ventures, and more. Our team is made up of experienced fintech operators, engineers, and accountants who are passionate about creating products founders love. From automated bookkeeping to embedded banking to full-service tax filing, Haven delivers the finance stack every startup deserves - without the overhead. We’re remote-first, execution-obsessed, and hiring people who want to build the future of startup finance. The Role We’re looking for an exceptional Fullstack Engineer to help us build the next great fintech platform. You’ll join a small, fast-moving team building high-impact products across accounting, tax, and banking. You’ll own features end-to-end and contribute across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and architecture.

Responsibilities

Build and scale Haven’s core platform across tax, accounting, and banking
Take ownership of the full software lifecycle - scoping, building, testing, deploying
Collaborate with product and design to ship features that delight customers
Write scalable backend code and craft refined, performant frontends
Contribute to infrastructure, observability, and system reliability
Help shape our technical roadmap and engineering best practices

Tech Stack

Cloud: GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL Postgres, Pub/Sub, Terraform)
Languages: TypeScript, Python (typed), Rust
Frameworks: React, Next.js, Slonik, Axum, SQLx, Django

Requirements

3+ years of experience as a fullstack or backend engineer
Experience with modern frameworks (React/Next.js, Django, etc.)
Proficiency in at least one typed language (TypeScript, Rust, etc.)
Strong product intuition and ability to work cross-functionally
Experience with system design and building scalable services
Excellent communication skills; startup or fintech experience a plus

Compensation

Salary: $120,000 – $200,000 USD
Equity: 0.25% – 2%
Benefits: Full medical, flexible hours, remote-first culture

Interview Process

Take-home coding project (1–2 hours)
Live coding session focused on real-world problems (no leetcode)
Final interview with a cofounder
