Essential Job Responsibilities:
Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material skills introduced by the classroom teacher/media specialist Assists the classroom teacher/media specialist in devising special strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the classroom teacher Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data, as needed, and puts it in usable form Performs clerical duties assigned by the principal or classroom teacher Helps to ensure a well-organized, smoothly functioning school/classroom environment
