Help our customers celebrate birthdays, weddings, graduations, and everyday moments with beautifully decorated cakes and desserts.

Hansen’s IGA Market is looking for a Cake Decorator with decorating experience, attention to detail, and a friendly approach to customer service. You’ll prepare cakes for our bakery displays, complete custom orders, and help customers select designs for their special occasions.

What You’ll Do as Cake Decorator

• Ice and decorate cakes and other bakery desserts for customer orders and store displays.

• Use piping, borders, lettering, and other decorating techniques to create attractive, consistent products.

• Help customers choose designs, colors, sizes, and messages.

• Record custom orders accurately and complete them by the promised pickup time.

• Package, label, and price bakery products.

• Keep refrigerated and frozen displays stocked, organized, and appealing.

• Check freshness, rotate products, and organize decorating supplies and freezer inventory.

• Safely operate bakery equipment after completing required training.

• Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas.

• Follow food safety and workplace safety procedures.

• Assist bakery coworkers and help train associates as needed.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For as Cake Decorator

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Previous cake-decorating experience, including icing, piping, borders, and lettering.

• Creativity and attention to detail.

• Friendly communication and a willingness to help customers.

• Ability to follow written orders, decorating instructions, and food safety procedures.

• Ability to organize work and meet order deadlines.

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work primarily in the bakery, with time spent in refrigerated and freezer areas.

• Stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or carry products during a shift.

• Perform frequent, repetitive hand and arm movements, including using piping bags and decorating tools.

• Lift and move products and supplies weighing up to 60 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
