Graham Technologies is seeking a COP Operations and Continuity Specialist to support the National Guard Bureau's Domestic Operations mission at the National Guard Coordination Center (NGCC) in Arlington, Virginia.
This position plays an important role in maintaining the Common Operating Picture (COP), supporting operational reporting, and ensuring continuous situational awareness of National Guard activities across all 54 states, territories, and the District of Columbia.
The ideal candidate has experience in military operations, command centers, emergency operations, or similar mission-focused environments. We are looking for someone who can quickly learn operational processes, communicate effectively, and provide dependable coverage across rotating watch teams.
Experience with Maven Smart System is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor, analyze, and maintain the Common Operating Picture (COP) to support National Guard domestic operations and leadership decision-making.
• Collect, validate, and update operational information from multiple sources to ensure accurate situational awareness.
• Track National Guard activities, deployments, significant events, and emerging incidents.
• Maintain operational information using Maven Smart System and other Government-approved platforms.
• Prepare and update situation reports, operational summaries, briefings, and other recurring reporting products.
• Coordinate with NGCC Team Chiefs, COP Managers, and Government personnel to validate information and respond to requests.
• Provide relief coverage for COP Managers during scheduled absences, leave, and staffing gaps.
• Support rotating watch teams and ensure smooth shift transitions through accurate handoffs and communication.
• Identify significant developments, reporting discrepancies, and operational concerns requiring attention.
• Support surge operations, emergency response activities, exercises, and other time-sensitive mission requirements.
• Follow established operating procedures, security requirements, and information-handling protocols.
• Help improve reporting accuracy, shift handoffs, and operational continuity.
Required Skills
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility/access required for assigned duties.
• Experience supporting military operations, joint operations centers, emergency operations centers, command centers, or similar operational environments.
• Ability to monitor, analyze, and communicate information from multiple sources.
• Strong organizational, analytical, written communication, and briefing skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requirements, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Government operational systems.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required.
• Ability to work on-site in Arlington, Virginia, within a classified or controlled operational environment.
Desired Skills
• Experience supporting the Department of Defense, National Guard, joint operations, or interagency missions.
• Familiarity with Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA), domestic operations, or emergency response coordination.
• Experience maintaining a Common Operating Picture or supporting operational reporting and situational awareness.
• Familiarity with Maven Smart System, WebEOC, ArcGIS, or comparable operational platforms.
• Experience preparing situation reports, executive briefings, operational summaries, or command-level reporting products.
• Previous experience working in a 24/7 military watch-floor or operations center.
• Understanding of National Guard domestic operations, incident response, or military operational planning.
