Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and accountability of Graco Oilfield Services' Monahans operation. Monahans is a large, multi-service-line operation generating more than $25 million in annual revenue with approximately 65 employees across Fishing, Pumping, BOP, administrative, and support functions. This position is a business leadership and operational management role within an oilfield service environment. Strong industry knowledge and operational credibility are important; however, the Store Manager is not expected to be the technical expert in every service line.

The Store Manager is responsible for bringing the individual service lines and support functions together as one operation, establishing clear accountability, developing employees and supervisors, ensuring company standards and processes are followed, and delivering safe, profitable, and disciplined performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Leadership & Accountability

  • Assume overall responsibility for the performance of the Monahans operation, including safety, financial performance, personnel, customer service, operational execution, administrative performance, and asset utilization.
  • Manage Monahans as a single business rather than as independent service-line operations.
  • Establish clear responsibilities and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Regularly review operational and financial performance and take corrective action when results fall below expectations.
  • Identify organizational, operational, and administrative weaknesses and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with District and corporate leadership regarding performance, risks, personnel issues, and significant operational developments.

Leadership & People Management

  • Provide leadership and direction to managers, supervisors, foremen, administrative personnel, and field employees.
  • Establish an effective supervisory structure appropriate for the size and complexity of each service line.
  • Develop capable supervisors and future leaders within the Monahans organization.
  • Participate in hiring, compensation, promotion, discipline, succession planning, and termination decisions.
  • Ensure employees understand their responsibilities, authority, and performance expectations.
  • Establish a culture of accountability where performance issues are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Maintain effective communication and cooperation across service lines and departments.
  • Ensure staffing levels and organizational structure remain appropriate for workload and business conditions.

Operational Oversight

  • Maintain sufficient knowledge of field operations to evaluate performance, identify risk, challenge assumptions, and make sound operational decisions.
  • Ensure jobs are properly staffed, dispatched, supported, documented, and completed in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Ensure equipment and personnel resources are coordinated effectively across the location.
  • Review significant operational failures, customer issues, equipment failures, and other exceptions to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ensure appropriate equipment readiness, staffing, and field support.
  • Become directly involved in significant operational issues when leadership, judgment, or additional resources are required.
  • Ensure day-to-day operational decisions are made at the appropriate level of the organization.

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Maintain responsibility for the overall financial performance of the Monahans operation.
  • Understand and manage the primary drivers of profitability, including revenue, labor, overtime, equipment costs, repairs, utilization, and operating expenses.
  • Review financial and operating results regularly and take action when performance falls below expectations.
  • Ensure operational leaders understand the financial impact of staffing, equipment, and operating decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability through better utilization, productivity, cost control, service-line coordination, and operating discipline.
  • Work with Sales and District leadership on customer strategy, resource allocation, and commercial opportunities.
  • Balance customer service requirements with appropriate commercial and operational discipline.

Administrative & Process Discipline

  • Ensure completed field work moves promptly and accurately through Graco's administrative and billing processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate field tickets, job documentation, employee time, equipment records, and other required information.
  • Ensure administrative personnel have the authority and management support necessary to enforce established documentation and process requirements.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, SOPs, and approval requirements are consistently followed.
  • Address recurring process failures at their source rather than allowing downstream personnel to repeatedly correct the same problems.
  • Work with District Control, Accounting, HR, Safety, and other corporate functions to identify and correct control weaknesses.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented, documented where appropriate, and sustained.

Training & Competency

  • Ensure employees receive appropriate training for their assigned responsibilities.
  • Identify training and development needs throughout the Monahans operation.
  • Ensure supervisors and experienced personnel actively participate in developing the employees under their direction.
  • Ensure required training and competency documentation is accurate, current, and auditable.
  • Support the development and improvement of operating procedures, training materials, and competency standards.
  • Develop employees capable of assuming greater responsibility as the organization grows.

Administrative & Process Discipline

  • Establish the expectation that safe operations are a responsibility at every level of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Graco safety policies, customer requirements, DOT requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the review of significant incidents, near misses, vehicle events, equipment failures, and other operational risks.
  • Ensure corrective actions arising from incidents or audits are assigned, completed, documented, and sustained.
  • Work with Safety, Risk Management, and District leadership to reduce operational exposure and prevent recurrence.

Training & Competency

  • Maintain relationships with key customers and understand their operational expectations.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact when significant customer or service issues arise.
  • Work effectively with Sales to support customer relationships and business development.
  • Ensure customer issues are addressed professionally and promptly.
  • Protect Graco's reputation through consistent execution, responsiveness, and accountability.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Establish the expectation that safe operations are a responsibility at every level of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Graco safety policies, customer requirements, DOT requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the review of significant incidents, near misses, vehicle events, equipment failures, and other operational risks.
  • Ensure corrective actions arising from incidents or audits are assigned, completed, documented, and sustained.
  • Work with Safety, Risk Management, and District leadership to reduce operational exposure and prevent recurrence.
