Original job description

Our growing, multi-disciplinary engineering firm is looking for a Water Resources Engineer who wants to take on meaningful projects, work alongside experienced industry professionals, and build a long-term career.

Why This Role Is Different

Meaningful Impact: Your work will help communities manage stormwater, reduce flood risk, protect waterways, and build more resilient infrastructure.
Technical Exposure: Work on challenging hydrologic and hydraulic problems across a variety of municipal, commercial, transportation, and land development projects.
Mentorship & Growth: Collaborate directly with experienced engineers and project leaders while continuing to develop your technical and project management skills.
Project Variety: No two projects are exactly alike. You'll have exposure to drainage systems, floodplain studies, stormwater management, channels, culverts, detention facilities, and other water resources infrastructure.
Long-Term Opportunity: Grow from a technical contributor into a project manager, technical specialist, or other leadership role as your experience develops.

What You'll Do

Design & Analyze: Develop water resources and stormwater designs, including drainage systems, detention/retention facilities, channels, culverts, storm sewers, and other related infrastructure.
Hydrologic & Hydraulic Modeling: Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard modeling tools and methodologies.
Technical Excellence: Prepare engineering calculations, drainage studies, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
Floodplain & Watershed Analysis: Support watershed studies, floodplain analysis, flood mitigation projects, and other water resources evaluations.
Permitting & Compliance: Assist with local, state, and federal permitting requirements and coordinate with regulatory agencies when needed.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers, environmental professionals, surveyors, planners, designers, project managers, and clients.
Project Ownership (Level-Dependent): Take increasing responsibility for project schedules, budgets, deliverables, client communication, and technical direction as your experience grows.

Who You Are

Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Credentials: EIT or PE preferred, or actively pursuing licensure.
Experience: Approximately 2–10 years of experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, or related civil engineering.
Technical Skills: Experience with programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, SWMM, Civil 3D, GIS, or comparable modeling/design software.
Soft Skills: Strong communicator and problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with others and taking ownership of their work.
