Overview

A top-20 national accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager for its privately held business tax practice in Brunswick, Georgia. This role reviews complex returns, consults on transactions, manages large engagements and develops managers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review of workpapers and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations and C corporations
• Consult on business and personal transactions and their tax implications
• Develop responses to IRS and other tax authorities' audits, notices and inquiries
• Manage larger, complex engagements and the workflow of multiple clients and deliverables
• Review or conduct research on complex or emerging tax issues and prepare supporting memos
• Identify and pursue extended services for existing clients and support business development
• Train and develop less experienced team members on budgets, staffing, due dates and client relations
• Stay current on tax law changes and share updates with the tax practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, finance or a related discipline
• Qualified to practice before the IRS (CPA, EA or JD)
• 6+ years of public accounting tax experience or equivalent
• 2+ years in a managerial role involving clients and team members
• Master's degree in accounting or taxation preferred
