Tax Manager / Director
Location: Akron, OH (or Canton, OH)
Overview
A national professional services firm is seeking a Tax Manager or Director for its Eastern Ohio tax team, based in its Akron or Canton office (in-office position). This role consults with franchise ownership clients on succession and tax planning, leads and reviews tax engagements, and develops team members.
Responsibilities
- Consult with franchise ownership clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning
- Lead, schedule, supervise and review tax engagements
- Develop and train team members
- Perform a range of tax procedures based on the size and complexity of each engagement
- Attend industry events and trainings and build industry expertise
- Review complex partnership, S corporation, pass-through and high net worth individual tax returns
Qualifications
- 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting and/or a professional services firm
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- Active CPA, EA or JD
- Strong problem-solving skills and enjoy helping clients succeed strategically
