Original job description
An established steel fabricator and erector serving Parkville and the Kansas City Northland is hiring an Estimator / Project Manager for its structural and miscellaneous steel packages. This position is built for an early- to mid-career professional ready to take on estimating and project leadership in one role.
Key duties:
- Track costs on active projects and manage RFIs and submittals
- Estimate and take off structural and miscellaneous steel packages
- Lead awarded work through fabrication and erection, owning schedule, budget, and change orders
- Assemble bids and proposals, including quotes for detailing, erection, and coatings
- Serve as the link between general contractors, detailers, the shop, and field crews
Requirements:
- 2-8 years in steel estimating, project management, or a related construction field
- Comfortable reading architectural and structural drawings
- Knowledge of structural and miscellaneous metals scopes
- Estimating software experience is a plus
- Engineering or construction management degree, or equivalent experience, preferred
Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000 per year, plus a sign-on bonus for top candidates coming from competitors and a yearly bonus opportunity.
